Bad World Tour - Sept.12, 1987 - Jan. 27, 1989
The first of Michael's solo tours, this started out in Tokyo on September 12, 1987, and concluded in Los Angeles on January 27, 1989. During these months, Michael visited 15 countries and performed to more than four million people, grossing over 125 million dollars.
Officially the biggest and highest earning tour of that time'. One Bad concert in Yokohama, Japan in September 1987 at Yokohama Stadium was recorded by Nippon TV and later televised in many countries. During the Bad tour stop in Sydney, Australia, on November 20, 1987 Stevie Wonder made a surprise appearance on stage. Michael and Stevie performed "Just Good Friends" as a special treat for the o so lucky fans. On March 03, 1988 Michael performed a private concert at New York's Madison Square Garden. All the proceeds were donated to the U.N.C. Fund. Tickets for the show couldn't purchased at ticket box offices. A special lottery system determined who was to receive tickets. During the show, Michael hit the headlines for kissing Tatiana Thumbtzen on stage during a great performance of "The Way You Make Me Feel'.(T. Thumbtzen is known from here appearance in Michael's 'The Way You Make Feel' video clip).
On June 16, 1988 Michael performed a sell-out concert in Basel, Switzerland. Among celebrities at this show are Elizabeth Taylor and Bob Dylan. While in Basel, Michael met with Mrs. Oona Chaplin, the widdow of one of Michael's all time heroes, Charlie Chaplin. The Chaplin family moved to Vevey, Switzerland in 1953 (when they purchased the elegant Manoir de Ban on Lake Geneva), during Oona's pregnancy with their fifth child, Eugene. On September 08, 1988 Michael received a special award by London's Wembley Stadium management for setting a new record for playing more dates at Wembley Stadium than any other artist.
His 7 sell-out concerts were attended by 504000 people. A distinction that earned him another entry in the Guinness Book Of World Records. During the Bad tour, Michael also performed "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" on stage with background singer Sheryl Crow. At every Bad tour stop, during 'She's Out Of My Life', one lucky girl was allowed to dance with Michael on stage. The Bad World Tour spanned the globe with stops in 15 countries on 4 continents, and included 123 concerts to about 4.4 million people.

This tour was front page news everywere it went. With extravagant staging that took almost three days to set up and 20 trucks of equipment shuttled between countries on Cargo planes, almost 3.5 million fans flocked to see The King Of Pop at 69 concert dates.
Starting at Munich's (Germany) Olympic Staduim on June 27, and ending in Mexico City on November 11th, amongst other places The King Of Pop performed in Japan, Asia, Russia, Turkey, Israel, Mexico and South America, donating "all" the proceeds to his Heal The World Foundation and other charities. History World Tour - Sept. 07, 1996 - Oct. 15, 1997
The History World Tour began in Prague, Czech Republic on September 07, 1996 and ended in Durban, South Africa on October 15, 1997. At the conclussion of the tour, The Living Legend - Michael Jackson had played at 82 concerts to a total of over 4.5 million fans in 58 cities, 35 countries, and 5 continents, with an average concert attendance of 55000 people. The History World Tour is the Biggest World Tour any performer had ever done.
The gold costume was designed by Gianni Versage who already designed some clothes for The Living Legend - Michael Jackson for his Dangerous World Tour. Two History concerts in Munich (Germany) on July 4 + 6, 1997 at Olympic Stadium were recorded. The concert (containing footage of both shows) was televised by Germany TV-channel SAT.1 and later in many other countries. Plus concerts in the following countries were recorded and later shown over network television: Bucharest (Rumania) - Sept. 14, 1996, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) Oct. 1996, Auckland (New Zealand) - Nov. 1996, Manila (Philippines) - Dec. 1996, Copenhagen (Denmark) - Aug. 1997, Gothenburg (Sweden) - Aug. 16, 1997 and Helsinki (Finland) - Aug. 1997. One History concert in Seoul, South Korea in 1996 at Chamsil Olympic Stadium was recorded and a VHS video cassette (NTSC) of this great concert was commercially released by Sony Music for the Asian market. So in other words this is the only History World Tour concert ever commercially available.
